Went here for the first time and was not impressed. The people running the front desk were rude, and more worried about reading their magazines than they were doing their job. They also acted really annoyed to have to stop reading their magazine for five minutes to schedule an appointment. I got my hair cut, and the stylist did an OK job, but was obviously fresh out of hairstyling school, and gave me a really basic cut. I had tried to explain what I wanted, which is a bit more complicated than a basic cut because of the texture and thickness of my hair, but she did not seem to understand what I was talking about. The cut was not bad, it was all even, but not what I wanted. I really expected more from a $28.00 haircut. I went to Cut Above because I was willing to spend a little extra money to get a better cut, as I am really picky about my hair (I went to cosmeotology school, so I know what I like). I really did not think the cut and service was worth the money. I would have expected that kind of cut and service for a $15 haircut, not a $28 haircut. I would not reccomend Cut Above.
I went yesterday for the first time and I am VERY happy with my cut. I had Stehphen cut it and I had no idea what type of cut I wanted. He made some suggestions and I let him go with it and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my new cut. I also expected the price to be more than what it was but I was very pleasantly surprised it wasn't very expensive. The peole at the front desk were very firendly as soon as I walked in. I was in the chair is less than 5 minutes. I will definatly be going back!
My friends, my father and I have been going here for a long time. Everytime you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and they help you right away. They do seem to stay busy, so I always book an appointment. However, they do take walk-ins. My friends and I go to Erin, who has been there a couple years now. She really listens to what you want. She doesn't rush to get you out either, unlike a lot of other salons who just want to make money and not care about you. Ask for a drink and they'll get you one (free!). The only negative thing I can think of is that they need to carry the full Nioxxin hair care line, instead of a couple products. Ask for an appt with Erin if you aren't sure who you'd want!
First, I would ignore the half negative review below! That was many years ago and I know from going in there, that the staff is totally different now! If someone isn't a good employee, they don't keep them there.
