Bartlett Funeral Home was the worst funeral experience of my life. They sold a good-sounding product, but after that, it was all downhill. When we tried to go to bring clothes or bring the wig, their door was locked (during business hours). A sign said, "bang on the door with your keys so we can hear you," but even banging with keys wouldn't bring anyone to the door, so we had to call them and ask them to send someone to the door. As bad as all that was, when the day of the viewing came, we were told to come at 6:45 for a 7:00 pm viewing so the family could see her first and make sure everything was okay. When we got there at 6:45, no one was there. The building for the viewing was open, so we went inside, but the casket wasn't there, no flowers, nothing. The place was filthy with old used tissues everywhere. We were very upset and began calling, but got no response. Finally, just before 7:00 pm, the owner showed up. We told him how upset we were that we didn't know where our loved one was and that things weren't set up for people to arrive. He told us to go on in and he would get it. So after 7:00 pm, they finally wheeled in the casket and the owner and one other person started cleaning up and setting up flowers, etc. It was very upsetting, but we had to make the best of it. Also, the makeup job they had one on our loved one was not good. People usually look at peace when they're made up for their funerals, but they had given her a scowl. I would not recommend this funeral home to anyone!
Went to a visitation at this funeral home this past Monday and was appalled at the disorganization and lack of compassion that the employees of this funeral home showed the family and guest. The door to the funeral was locked at the time of the visitation started. Elderly people had to wait outside to get in. Once we made it the building we had to wait 15-20 minutes for them to bring the deceased persons urn to the visitation. ?? The family had prepared a video that was to be shown while the visitation was occurring. It took the employee 30 minutes or so to figure out how to play the video. It seemed this place is extremely unorganized, lacks compassion, and communication skills. I felt so sorry for the family. I would not recommend this place to anyone!!! I only gave them 1 star because I had to!!!
